How You Can Help

House of Compassion of Toronto provides high support housing to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness because:

  • 1 in 5 Canadians will experience mental illness in their lives
  • 66% of homeless people in Toronto have a lifetime diagnosis of mental illness
  • 1/3 of these are homeless because their mental illness prevented them from obtaining and keeping housing
  • Supportive housing is recognized as THE best strategy for permanently ending homelessness among people with severe and persistent mental illness

With over 350 people on the waiting list for high support housing like House of Compassion, we need your help.

With your help, we can...

  • Permanently end homelessness by continuing to provide a permanent home to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Continue to provide opportunities to support our residents in their recovery
  • Realize our vision of expanding our services to support more people to live in the community with hope and dignity
