A Permanent Home for People Living with Serious Mental Illness
For more than 35 years, House of Compassion has been a place where people who have faced homelessness, hospitalization, and profound isolation find something many thought was impossible: a permanent home.
Located in the heart of Toronto, our house provides supportive housing and 24-hour care for 21 adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. Here, residents are not just given shelter—they become part of a compassionate community built on dignity, stability, and belonging.
Every day, residents share meals together, tend to the garden, sit on the front porch, create art, and build meaningful relationships with staff and one another. It is a place where people are known by name, supported through challenges, and celebrated for who they are.
For many residents, House of Compassion has been home for decades.
And that stability changes lives.
